GENESIS
Kendriya Vidyalaya, INS Hamla, Malad (West), was established in August 1972 as a Defence School. The Vidyalaya is situated at a distance of 9 kms. from Malad Station. It is the only Kendriya Vidyalaya in the Western Suburbs of Mumbai (State – Maharastra), Assembly - Malad West, Lok Sabha Constituency: Mumbai-North.

On the momentous occasion of Foundation Day 2024 of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), I extend my heartfelt greetings to each one of you. From its humble beginnings in 1963, KVS has grown into an inspiring institution of excellence in school education. This remarkable journey continues to evolve, driven by an unwavering spirit of innovation and progress.

The glorious Diamond Jubilee of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a festival of immense joy, enthusiasm, respect and pride for all the students and former and present teachers, employees and officers. This day reminds us of the important role of this excellent organization, which is leading us towards national unity, humanity and prosperity through education. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is committed to establish all its schools as standard centres of education throughout India and to ensure all-round development of students through uniform curriculum and education. All the 69 Kendriya Vidyalayas of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Mumbai Division, lay emphasis on education of life skills and life harmony through child-centred learning activities. K.V.S. Its motto is: Hiranmayena paatraen satyasyaapihitam mukham. Tat tvam pushannapavrunu satyadharmaaya drushtye ॥ Therefore, through education we need to develop such understanding and vision in children that they can remove the attraction of untruth from their path and adopt Satyam Shivam Sundaram. Education is the duty of the times; hence, it is changeable. Designed as per the needs of time, society, nation and culture, New Education Policy 2020 is a policy for the rejuvenation of India in the global scenario which is being implemented by all Kendriya Vidyalayas. Sports, music, art, dance etc. are part of the holistic education of Kendriya Vidyalayas. Through our resources, teachers and staff, we are providing children with many colourful platforms for building their future. With the needs of the students as a pivotal point, the administration, staff and parents will be in liaison to bestow the best to its children. A motivated personality infuses a motivated mindset. It would be the mission of the school to instil a sense of inspiration and encouragement in the students and staff so that they can render their best. In the age of globalization, it is imperative that the youth of today are made aware of the opportunities and challenges that they would face on leaving the school and hence the main focus of Kendriya Vidyalaya is the holistic personality development of the child, which encompasses both the scholastic and non-scholastic areas. Grooming every student so that the child develops a positive perspective towards career and life is the mission of the school.
